Crush Magazine : Comment est née votre histoire avec les chapeaux et à quel moment avez-vous compris que vous vouliez en faire votre métier ?
Mariana Martin : Mon histoire avec les chapeaux a commencé bien avant d’en faire une profession. Ma grand-mère était couturière pour les danseuses du Ballet Mariinsky de Saint-Pétersbourg. J’ai grandi entourée de tissus, de costumes et de création. Plus tard, en fréquentant de nombreux Fashion Weeks, j’ai découvert le pouvoir des accessoires dans la construction d’une identité. J’ai toujours été fascinée par la façon dont un chapeau peut transformer une allure et révéler une personnalité. Avec le temps, j’ai commencé à créer mes propres modèles et j’ai compris que je voulais en faire mon métier et bâtir une marque qui me ressemble.
Crush Magazine : Ibiza est une île très inspirante. En quoi influence-t-elle votre univers créatif et vos collections ?
Mariana Martin : Ibiza a été un véritable coup de cœur. Dès ma première visite, j’ai ressenti une connexion particulière avec l’île. Son énergie unique, où se mêlent liberté, nature, créativité et sophistication, nourrit chacune de mes créations. Ses paysages, sa lumière et la diversité des personnes qui la fréquentent influencent profondément l’univers de Marma Hats.
Crush Magazine : Que cherchez-vous à exprimer ou à raconter à travers vos créations ?
Mariana Martin : Je souhaite que chaque chapeau transmette confiance et authenticité. Mes créations ne sont pas de simples accessoires ; elles permettent à chacun d’exprimer une partie de sa personnalité. Un chapeau peut révéler une attitude, une énergie, une façon d’être au monde.
Crush Magazine : Quelle est la création dont vous êtes la plus fière et pourquoi ?
Mariana Martin : Plus qu’une pièce en particulier, je suis fière de voir mes créations portées dans différentes régions du monde. Apercevoir un chapeau Marma Hats à Ibiza, Miami, Dubaï ou Tulum me confirme que l’esprit de la marque dépasse les frontières, les cultures et les styles de vie.
Crush Magazine : Si vous deviez imaginer un chapeau qui symbolise Ibiza, à quoi ressemblerait-il ?
Mariana Martin : Ce serait un chapeau élégant mais libre, sophistiqué sans effort. Il serait inspiré des couleurs de la terre, de la mer et des couchers de soleil de l’île. J’y intégrerais également une référence à la musique, si essentielle à l’identité d’Ibiza. Une pièce capable de refléter à la fois sa beauté naturelle, sa créativité et son esprit libre.

Crush Magazine: How did your story with hats begin, and when did you realize you wanted to turn this passion into a profession?
Mariana Martin: My story with hats began long before I made them my profession. My grandmother was a seamstress for the dancers of the Mariinsky Ballet in Saint Petersburg. I grew up surrounded by fabrics, costumes and creativity. Later, while attending numerous Fashion Weeks, I discovered the power of accessories in shaping identity. I have always been fascinated by the way a hat can transform a look and reveal a personality. Over time, I started creating my own designs and realized that I wanted to turn this passion into my career and build a brand that truly reflected who I am.
Crush Magazine: Ibiza is an incredibly inspiring island. How does it influence your creative universe and your collections?
Mariana Martin: Ibiza was love at first sight. From my very first visit, I felt a special connection with the island. Its unique energy, where freedom, nature, creativity and sophistication coexist, inspires every creation I make. Its landscapes, light and the diversity of people who visit and live here have deeply shaped the world of Marma Hats.
Crush Magazine: What do you hope to express through your creations?
Mariana Martin: I want each hat to convey confidence and authenticity. My creations are more than simple accessories; they allow people to express a part of who they are. A hat can reveal an attitude, an energy and a unique way of moving through the world.
Crush Magazine: Which creation are you most proud of, and why?
Mariana Martin: More than a specific piece, I am proud to see my creations worn in different parts of the world. Seeing a Marma Hat in Ibiza, Miami, Dubai or Tulum confirms that the spirit of the brand transcends borders, cultures and lifestyles.
Crush Magazine: If you had to imagine a hat that symbolizes Ibiza, what would it look like?
Mariana Martin: It would be elegant yet free, sophisticated without trying too hard. It would be inspired by the colors of the earth, the sea and Ibiza’s breathtaking sunsets. I would also include a connection to music, which is such an essential part of the island’s identity. A piece capable of reflecting Ibiza’s unique blend of natural beauty, creativity and free spirit.
